MASSEY FERGUSON IN HALL 12 AT LAMMA • It was good to be back at the LAMMA Show, the UK and Ireland’s largest agricultural show, held over 15–16 January at the NEC, and taking up ten halls of this enormous complex.

FESTIVE ACTIVITIES • This is the first chance that CMFE has had to look back at the 2024 festive season, when family tractors were on the roads raising lots of money for charities everywhere.

PHIL’S DREAM COMES TRUE • Phil Tassell, the eighth generation of beef and sheep farmers from Headcorn, Kent (who also runs a successful fencing and construction company) has just completed a full restoration on his 1976 Massey Ferguson 1200, which he purchased from Parris Tractor, Taunton, Somerset in 2021.

THE TRACTOR PLANT – ITS RISE AND FALL. • Acquisitions, mergers and a drive to get into the European market were all contributing factors to the acquisition of Massey Ferguson by AGCO back in the early 1990s, as the Corporation followed a programme of rapid growth by taking over its competitors, says Bob Moorman.
